My Jeep Wrangler Rebuilt project.

frame_mods.jpg (613288 bytes)

I purchased a used frame in top condition, A lot of cleaning and a few mods to make sure the frame will last longer. This frame came from a jeep that was rolled over. and the spring mounts were bent, I cut those off and have the Body Shop weld replacments on. Extra holes and pads welded and then coated with POR-15.

Thanks to my friends and Souhegan Vally Auto Repair for the Welding job!

Each part under the body is now scraped, Sand Blasted, and then coated with POR-15 to unsure a long life.

Going back together.

So I put the drive train together, Now to go over the motor and replace some known leaky gaskets. Then on to the hydraulics.

Timing Chain

While the motor is so exposed, it's the best time to clean it up and get some minor work done. The front crank seal leaks so off the covers it is. The timing chain was rubbing on the case, funny, how I thought that was a noise from the clutch fan. The oil filter must have caught most of the aluminum. There wasn't any in the bottom of the oil pan.

Other things to boring to take a photo of. The Exhaust manifold studs were the originals, and have been through several replacement systems. These were also replaced. Map gas is the hottest gas I can use here, so it took a while to heat up the manifold enough to break the loose.
